Siddhas, Yogis & Rishis of India

The greatest contribution of India to the world is her material and spiritual science. No civilization, however old it be, has ever attained the level of sophistication, reached by the great ancient Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis of India in material and spiritual science.

What they had was not just intelligence but intuition. They could see, hear or feel beyond the realm of the five senses. They did not need telescopes, microscope or other scientific equipments to unravel the mysteries of the cosmos. They only relied on the most powerful instrument in the world the human soul which has it in a latent sense, omniscience and omnipotence.

The earth plane was actually designed as a laboratory for the evolution of souls, so the GOD send us His reprsentatives in the form of Siddhas, Yogis and Rishis to show us the way. This great souls are in every part of the world, but particularly in India and especially in Tamil Nadu, the land of the Mystics.

In India all scientific truths are imbibed in routine life, by explaining them through Puranic Stories. Through tradition or custom, all scientific truths are brought to the stage of implementation in day-to-day life

In this Blog im Decoding the Hindu Sacred Stories, Symbols, Myth, Rituals and Worships for Today`s Modern World Scientifically. Many doubts such as the connection between the Universal Soul, the One God and myriad gods and goddesses, Hindu rituals, practices and their symbolism, the caste system and concepts such as karma, dharma and reincarnation are explained in a simplified and scientific form.

HOW TO KNOW GOD

HOW TO KNOW GOD
REGULAR PROGRAM - TATVA NYANA YOGA

SIDDHANTHAM

'HOW TO KNOW GOD ?
Yogam (Yoga), Vaithyam (Natural medicine), Jyothidam (Astrology) and Nyanam (Mystical Knowledge) must be master to know GOD'

VIDYA - EDUCATION
Education, which cannot give peace to the soul or cannot give the knowledge of the Self and the inner satisfaction, is not education. Education, which cannot wipe the tears of others, known or unknown, is not education. Education is understanding the situation - leading the life that can make the life, the Life Divine, where the ultimate goal of the life is the God-Realisation.

THREE STAGES OF HUMAN EVOLUTION

- Animal to Man ( Mooladhara to Anahata )
- Man to Man ( Anahata to Ajna )
- Man to Divine ( Ajna to Sahasrara )

GOLDEN AGE / SATYUGAM
During 2012, the Sun, Earth and Karthigai star, will be in alignment resulting in more of the grace light entering the Earth plane. Thereafter, it is predicted that the Karthigai - Lord Murugan energy will be responsible for the transformation of the planet and of the genetic evolution of the human species into Gods and Goddesses status. This energy will allow humans to return to their original blueprint. The most important thing to remember about these new energies is to stay conscious and match our frequency to receieve it through proper worships, rituals, yoga and mystical knowledge according to great siddha masters.

ANCIENT SIDDHA MASTERS
The Siddhas were scientists, particularly in their investigations into chemistry, astronomy, plants, human anatomy and physiology. They applied their extraordinary powers, developed through intensive yogis practices, to research these areas on atomic and universal levels without the use of sophisticated equipment. In the long linege of Siddhas, one does not know when they came into earth's existance. Whether they still exist or are they Ascended masters teaching humanity the various sciences and philosophy, will perhaps, be never known.

SIDDHAS TEACHINGS
In the teachings of the Siddhas the human body is a temple of God. Man is a miniature representation of Paramatma or Supreme Intelligence. The purpose of life is to realize God.To manifest that realization in all planes of existence.

SIDDHAS MEDICINE
Using special salts as well as herbal formulae the Siddhas developed the unique science of rejuvenation, known as "kaya kalpa", which allowed them to prolong their lives until the long term effects of Kriya Kundalini Pranayama and similar yogic practices could complete the process of transformation, bringing about physical immortality.

Siddhas followed the ancient Guru- disciple apprenticeship method. They revealed their secrets to those students whom they felt could be trusted not to misuse the science. The science of Kaya kalpa was limited to those great sages. who were prepared for the uplifting of humanity. Ayurveda came much later as discipline.

SIDDHAS SECRET KNOWLEDGE
The Siddhas had vast knowledge of human anatomy. Their single-minded concentration was unique. It was was achieved with perfection. Their literature on medicine was extensive. The Siddhas were a close-knit community and preferred to preserve their knowledge. They reduced this knowledge to codes and symbols and their literature was steeped in mysticism. Only a Siddha can decode the writings of a Siddha. A beginner could not gain any appreciable knowledge without the Siddha accepting him as a student.

THE SCIENCE OF YOGA
Siddhas such as Thirumoolar, Agastyar, Boganathar, and many more had realized their capacity for experiencing and manifesting the Divine. This was not only limited to the spiritual plane of existence. The Cosmic Spirit would descend into the more lower and gross planes of consciousness, the intellectual, mental, and physical bodies. This for us is a limiting thought as our yogic parasites are not as intense as the Siddha. With progressive surrender of their being , their ego and their very lives the Divine would indeed transform them. With intense practices of various Kriyas, hatha and bhakti yoga, meditation, mantras and Kriya Kundalini Pranayama they merged with the Cosmic Spirit . This was race against time as the natural breakdown of cells, catabolism, had to be reversed to anabolism to prolong the extent of their age. They had to complete the Divine transformation. With Kriya Kundalini yoga and using specific herbal and mineral salts they were able to prolong their youth for the Ultimate transformation.

SIDDHANTHAM
The Universe was created out of a Cosmic Thought . No civilization be it the Inca, Atlantis or Egyptian had such a precise knowledge as the Siddhas. They were proficient in the science of longevity or deathless state, alchemy, medicine and physics.

Lord Nadaraja at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research)

The Large Hadron Collider and the Statue at CERN

Can there be a coincidence that the statue at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) is none other than Shiva Nataraja – the dancing Shiva, also known as the primordial destructive force of the universe? CERN is the international organization whose primary function is the oversight of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) which is located on the French/Swiss border. In this regard it has assumed oversight responsibility for the most advanced and sophisticated experimental laboratory in particle, theoretical and nuclear physics currently being conducted (not in total secrecy) throughout the world.
Is there reason to be conCERNed about the technology that is being employed at the LHC? Is there good reason to believe that the technology, and the underlying science, as well as the particle accelerator itself, are not up to the task at hand? What we are suggesting is that these physicists are playing with fire that they do not have the capacity to understand given the inherent limitations of their mindsets. More specifically, the very scientific paradigms upon which they have based their technology, especially the collider/accelerator, are totally inadequate to carry out such experimentation in a responsible manner. In other words these guys are trying to play in the major leagues with sticks and stones.
For those not steeped in Eastern spirituality, Lord Shiva is one of the three primary deities of the Hindu trinity and is known wherever his image is worshiped as the destroyer and transformer. What does the dancing Shiva (Nataraj) have to do with the Large Hadron Collider? Lets have a closer look.
“Nataraja or Nataraj: … The Lord (or King) of Dance is a depiction of the Hindu god Shiva as the cosmic dancer who performs his divine dance to destroy a weary universe and make preparations for god Brahma to start the process of creation. Nataraja is most often depicted through a statue. The dance of Shiva in Tillai, the traditional name for Chidambaram, forms the motif for all the depictions of Shiva as Nataraja. He is also known as “Sabesan” which splits as “Sabayil aadum eesan” in Tamil which means “The Lord who dances on the dais”. The form is present in most Shiva temples in South India, and is the main deity in the famous temple at Chidambaram.[1]

The sculpture is usually made in bronze, with Shiva dancing in an aureole of flames, lifting his left leg (and in rare cases, the right leg) and balancing over a demon or dwarf (Apasmara) who symbolizes ignorance. It is a well known sculptural symbol in India and popularly used as a symbol of Indian culture.[2]” (Per Wikipedia)

The picture above was taken in front of the CERN complex in Geneva, Switzerland. This statue of Shiva Nataraj is casting a shadow on the headquarters building. Is this a message “from the universe” about the destructive potential of a particle accelerator which collides opposing streams of protons and most recently lead ions) at the speed of light in an effort to create a mini big bang. We sincerely hope that the unique and strategic placement of this sacred statue will somehow represent an auspicious outcome of CERN’s endeavors, and will not prove to be an ill omen.
While we are cognizant of the scriptural understanding that the “Lord of the Dance” does perform both a creative and destructive cosmic dance, we would hope that the decision-makers at CERN are well aware of the potential for the later in light of the destructive forces it has already experienced in the course of the operation of the Large Hadron Collider.

“The two most common forms of Shiva’s dance are the Lasya (the gentle form of dance), associated with the creation of the world, and the Tandava (the violent and dangerous dance), associated with the destruction of weary worldviews – weary perspectives & lifestyles. In essence, the Lasya and the Tandava are just two aspects of Shiva’s nature; for he destroys in order to create, tearing down to build again[3].” (Per Wikipedia)
Again, is there reason to be conCERNed about the technology that is being employed at the LHC? The physicists who work there are well aware that things are being done which are clearly pushing the edge of the envelope. Lawsuits have been filed, position papers have been written and formal requests to cease and desist have been made by some of the best and brightest among us. And yet the experiments continue unabated. Should we be conCERNed?!

Kubera - God of Wealth

Kubera is the god of wealth and son of Sage Vishrava who is the son of Lord Brahma. Kubera is widely known as the gods appointed guardian of the treasures of the gods and the nine special treasures of indefinite significance. But he is also the King of Yakshas and one of the Ashta-Dikpalas, representing the north direction.

When Kubera went to Kailasam once to have a darshan of Lord Shiva, he found Him with Goddess Parvathi. Kubera was stunned to see the splendour and beauty of Goddess Parvathi. He felt sorry that he had not worshipped such a fine goddess for so long and one of his eyes shut itself.

Goddess Parvathi got angry that Kubera was winking at Her, and looking at Her with evil intention. She made his eye burst. Kubera lost sight in one eye and was also cursed that he would always look ugly. Lord Kubera pleaded with Lord Siva to forgive him and explained that he had not seen the Goddess with any evil intention. Lord Siva left the choice to His consort. Goddess Parvathi forgave Kubera and let the eye grow back, but it was smaller than the other one.

Lord Balaji or Venkateswara at Thirupathi is said to have Borrowed money form Kubera for his marrige and he is still paying the interest on the loan amount.

So one eye of Kubera is smaller than the other. Kubera was rewarded by Lord Siva with the post of being one of the guards of the eight directions - the North. The Goddess made him the lord of wealth and material.

As the God of wealth and material, his responsibilities are to distribute them while creating wealth is with Goddess Lakshmi. Kubera is mostly painted with his family and seen showering gold coins and navaratnas.

Performing pooja to Lord Kubera is believed to enrich one's life. To have a wealthy and comfortable life, one has to perform Sri Lakshmi Kubera Pooja.

The auspicious date to worship Kubera is between October 15 and November 15 (Tamil month Aippasi). Thursday is the most auspicious day for Kubera. Anyone who wants to achieve his/her goal should worship Kubera for 48 days by chanting the Kubera mantra 108 times a day.

Astrology & Spirituality

Astrology is an ancient science and is the study of man's response to planetary stimuli. However, the science of astrology is too vast, both mathematically and philosophically, to be rightly grasped except by men of profound understanding. In ancient times, only the one with transcendental knowledge, a Sadguru, who could provide Brahm Vidya or Divine Knowledge, had the right to call himself an astrologer. An astrologer is called Jyotishi in Hindi. Jyoti + Ish means the Light of God; a person who becomes one with the divine light and reflects it through his being, he in essence, can be a Jyotishi, the one who can uncover the future. He not only can make us aware of our future but can also provide us Divine Knowledge, through which we can change our fate/destiny. Shri Yukteshwar explains that the natal chart can be rightly interpreted only by men of intuitive wisdom (Autobiography of a Yogi). Practice on the Divine Knowledge provided by the Sadguru helps a human being to change his fate or at least mitigate its effects rather than feeling helpless. As scriptures mention, “The fire of knowledge burns to ashes all reactions to material activities.” (Gita 4:37). “One overcomes both the pious and impious reactions of work.” (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.22).

The usefulness of astrology in spirituality is only when it does not emphasise fate, due to the result of past good and bad actions, but arouses man's will to escape from his universal bondage. The human being is the supreme creation of God and has free will. He can remake his foot prints and can overcome any limitation by transferring his allegiance from the creation to the Creator. The more he realises his unity with the spirit, the less will he be dominated by matter. The realised soul cannot be regimented by the sun, moon, planets or the constellation of stars.

Astrology is not meant to lead to fatalism. Often, when an astrologer tells a man about his good fate, it produces inaction and the individual starts believing that he will be doled out good fortune without making any efforts. Similarly, when the astrologer tells him about imminent bad times, then that too, leads to negativity, disappointment, and anxiety. Out of fear and desperation, man starts performing various rituals and actions to overcome the effect. Moreover, we see that many frauds use this as a tool to manipulate people's minds, which leads to superstition, confusion and misguidance. A wise man, however, transforms his stars or fate by living in divine consciousness. This can be attained by prayer and deep meditation on the inner power or Soul– the only celestial being we should pledge allegiance to.

Art and Science of Slow Walk – by Vijayakumar Alagapan

The organs of your body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot. God created our body so well that of even this. He made us walk so that we will always be pressing this pressure points and thus keeping these organs activated at all times. But the walking should be slow (not brisk walk as advised by most of the modern doctors). With slow walking, one can control the slowly acting factor. To start with, it can be only be for 20 minutes. Using watch, you should walk for 10 minutes away from your home. Then you should walk back to your home. Gradually, the walking time should be increased to 45 minutes. The walking increases blood circulation in the knee and calf regions of the feet. According to engineering terminology, the heart is a pump with non-return valves.

The other place where non-return valves are located in the body are in the veins of the calfs. Technically speaking the non-return valve in each of the calf should be designated as a heart. The one heart in the chest is not under our control (yogis and yoginis may control them, but not ordinary people). But the other two “hearts” in the calfs can be controlled by you – it is through walking. The best time for daily slow walk practices are two hours before Sun rise and Sun set. I hope, today`s doctors will help to spread this priceless ancient knowledge to everyone in tropical climate countries.

No Brisk Walk Especially If You Are Living in Tropical Climate

Path of the Ancient Wisdom - By Dr. Hiro Badlani

View Image
Dr. Hiro G Badlani ( ? ) practiced opthmalogy for 40 years in Mumbai, India. After retiring he moved to the US to join his children. In his recent book, Hinduism: Path of the Ancient Wisdom he notes that:

"Unlike the Western concept of linear time, the Hindus accept time as cyclical, with neither beginning nor end. At first, the concept of Vedic Kalpas (time units) might seem absurd, but when these figures are compared with modern astronomical scientific data, it is amazing to notice the patterns of similarity between the two. How could it have been possible to discover all this without any technology, without instruments, and without any computers? Ancient Hindu seers or Rishis, who are credited with having invented the zero and decimal phenomenon, seem to have had a deep insight of cosmic events, based on the fundamental principle of harmony. "

"There are billions of other galaxies of stars like ours. Hindu scriptures have given stunning descriptions of these infinite, countless solar systems (brahmands) in the cosmos. The galaxies have been there from eternity. But the most surprising thing is that all these stars, their satellites, comets, and other phenomena are positioned with a faultless precision. The ancient Hindu Rishis studied these complex astronomical structures minutely, giving the world authentic and deep knowledge of astronomy and astrology. "

"Hindu Rishis stated that there are eternal cycles of evolutions, or srshti, and dissolutions (pralaya) taking place in the cosmos. Modern science is only now coming to grips with this understanding of the cosmic phenomenon. The Rishis, however, recognized this cosmic phenomenon, and they called it Brahman - the transcendental, supreme, the eternal soul, which pervades everything, everywhere, at all times. The world is there, and we are there because of this source of power behind us. In fact, all our power and intelligence is simply extended to us from this eternal source. The concept of universal Brahman sowed the seeds of spiritual unity."

"Human beings have now started to realize how tiny a particle of this vast infinite cosmos of the Divine they are and should not, therefore, become arrogant about their own accomplishments and achievements, however big they might be. The ancient Rishis also recognized vulnerability and weakness of man. They recognized the futility of man to depend upon his ego. They compared man to a wave of the ocean; it rises and moves because it is with the ocean. Separated from it, the wave will perish in a moment. They compared the man to a whiff of air, to a bubble of water, to a speck of dust, and to a grain of sand. Again and Again they reminded mankind to be vigilant. They reminded man to strive to remain in connection and union with the source, the eternal God."

Hindu Rishis sang and wrote thousands of hymns in tribute to this supreme power."

Spiritual Trip for Ancestral Blessings

The secret of overcoming your problems !
Mahalaya Paksha is considered the most auspicious time for departed ancestors ritual. Main reason for all of our problems besides bad karmas is the departed spirits of our ancestors. Our role is that we should constantly connect to the departed ancestors to live a peaceful and prosperous life.

Only once in a year a great celebration takes place in the Pitru Lokam (departed ancestors world) and only for 2 weeks. It is called the "Mahalaya Paksha" This year it commences on the 1st October 2012, right after the Full Moon day and ends on the Mahalaya New Moon day, which is 15th of October 2012.

One of the most powerfull place to do this ancestral ritual is Rameshwaram during this time. I.K.S. 2) We will take holy bath and immersion in the sea of Rameshwaram, which cleanses mind, body and soul with the energy of Lord Rama.

3) We will also be purified of the deepest karmas through being doused by the holy water of the 22 sin-dissolving wells of the Rameshwaram temple.

In addition to the great Rameshwaram temple, we will also be visiting other powerfull temple like Kanyakumari, Madurai Meenakshi Amman, Chottani Bagavathi Amman temple, Padmanabaswamy temple, Sri Ranggam temple and many other temples while we are in Kerala and Tamilnadu.

Rameshwaram
Situated on an island off the Sethu coast of Rameswaram in Ramanathpuram district, Tamil Nadu, is an important pilgrimage site for the followers of Hinduism. It is believed that a visit to this temple washes away one's sins and brings salvation (moksha). Being situated in Rameshwaram, the Ramanathaswamy Mandir is popularly known as the Rameshwaram Temple. The construction of this temple began in the 12th century; nonetheless it was completed much later, during the reign of various rulers. Rameshwaram Temple is famous for embracing one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (lingam of light) of Lord Shiva. The temple is also accredited for being the southern most 'jyotirlinga' of India.

Rameswaram'(Tamil:à®°ாà®®ேஸ்வரம்) is a town in Ramanathapuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on an island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is less than 40 kilometers from the Jaffna Peninsula, Sri Lanka. Together with Kashi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus. Hence, it is a bustling pilgrim centre.

It is situated in the Gulf of Mannar at the very tip of the Indian peninsula. According to legends, this is the place from where Lord Rama, built a bridge Ram Setu(also known as Adam's Bridge) across the sea to Lanka to rescue his consort Sita, from her abductor, Ravana. This is also the place where Rama worshipped Shiva to be absolved of the sin of killing Ravana, hence the name of Shiva, which became the name of the town - Rameswara ("lord of Rama"). Both the Vaishnavites and Shaivites visit this pilgrimage centre which is known as the Varanasi of the south.

Who invented steel?

The Rig Veda mentions “wootz” steel. Evidence for the manufacture of steel in ancient times is available in South India. The Arabians used to make a lot of money by selling Indian steel ingots to Europe. In 1746, the queen of Britain had sent a scientist named Benjamin Hauntsman to India to obtain the secret of making steel. Hauntsman stayed in India for some years, went back to Britain and submitted a report to the queen. Some historic records say that he did not write the main secret and he started his foundry in his native town. How the secret reached Henry Bessemer is unnecessary for us because his process was essentially the Indian crucible method of making steel. Another Indian contribution to industries in Europe was the process of casting. The frames of machine tools of that time were made of wood. Good mechanical devices like clocks did exist in Britain as early as 1300s. They were works of skilled crafts persons and were not products of precision machine tools. It was not until the structures of the machine tools were cast using Indian casting method and their other components were made of hard metals using Indian steel making method, the high precision machine tools could be made. The so called Industrial Revolution of Europe in the 1800s heavily depended on this.

The Moon and You

The Moon and You

It is well known that the moon creates the tidal flow, and as beings who are made up of 75% water, it makes sense that we are also deeply affected by the moon. Learning how the moon affects us, how we can work with the moon is certainly well worth the effort, and developing a relationship with the moon is an extremely empowering and rewarding experience.

This article is dedicated to the moon and her influence on us and our lives.

It includes moon phases and their effects.

Phases of the Moon

The moon cycles 13 times a year through phases, each of which influence us just like the pull of the tides.

It starts with the New Moon, which carries the energy of new beginnings, this is a great time to focus on stepping into something new.

Then the Full Moon, Signifies the time of the completion of a project, and finally returns to the New Moon again.

This entire cycle occurs over a period of 28 days, and yes, there is no mistaking it, this is the same as women's menstrual cycles, women tend to be much more connected to the moon than men.

The Waning of the moon is the period that runs between the Full Moon and the New Moon. It supports the energy of letting go, releasing, moving away from situations you've outgrown. It is a great time for working heavily on any releasement work such as clearing addictions and difficulties. It is also the perfect time to do a Spring Cleaning, going through your things and throwing out anything you no longer use, getting your hair cut, in fact, anything to do with getting rid of stuff.

The Waxing of the moon, is the period that runs between the New Moon and the Full Moon. The influence it carries during this time is wonderful for building, gathering or creating new things. The waxing moon is a great time to start new projects, sign up for a course, be creatively expressive, anything related to generating new aspects of life, or recreating the old.

Now of course this doesn't mean that you shouldn't let go of something during the waxing moon, or that you can't sign up for something new in the Waning moon. It does mean that if you have plans for this kind of work, including the tidal pull of the different moon phases in your plan, will support your actions in the same way that swimming with or against the tide makes your swim easier or more difficult.

One final important point to make about working with the Moon, is that it helps to realise that all things have the need for both generating and clearing. This means that both aspects of the lunar cycle can be used to your advantage for any particular issue or project. For example, if you are looking at having a huge clean-up at home, you could plan and design everything, including any furniture/room arrangment changes, during the waxing time. This is your time for creating new looks and new ways to live. You could then go on to do the cleaning up work during the Waning period. The perfect time to let go of the old, so that the new designs can take their place.

There is so much more about the effects of the moon on us as human beings. Learning to work with the moon and how she affects us can result in a much deeper understanding of ourselves and how much more power we have in our lives than perhaps we've realised. By simply becoming aware of the phases of the moon and the effects that it has on your life, you have made a great start to a new level of empowerment!
